The debut of a new flap bag in Chanel’s spring/summer release of 2026 has already captured the attention of devotees. After its first runway appearance in October 2025, this new addition has been spotted on celebrities and Chanel’s brand ambassadors like Dua Lipa, Hailey Bieber, and Jennie. The minimalist look of the bag that still calls to mind the beloved Classic Flap is shaping up to be the bag of the year, drawing quick attention as it enters boutiques.

The bag, playfully nicknamed Chanel 26 after its predecessor and officially listed as the Small Flap Bag on the website, features a flap design with two straps to be worn over the shoulder or held in hand. Unforgotten is the iconic double C closure. Though similar in appearance to Chanel’s previous classics, the Small Flap Bag offers a more sleek look. Unlike the Classic Flap’s quilted leather body, this newest bag makes use of grained calfskin leather for a softer, minimalist look. The straps also fall lower, connected near the bottom part of the bag rather than stopping at the top, giving a casual feel that is a modern update to the iconic Chanel look.

Everything We Know So Far

Currently, the Chanel Small Flap has three color options on the official website: black, dark blue, and light green. These solid colorways accentuate the elegant design of the bag and pair perfectly with the gold hardware that boasts the emblematic CC closure. New shades are still pending.

It is a humble size of 5.9” x 8.7” x 2.8” (15 x 22 x 7 cm) for a casual, everyday carry that fits perfectly under the arm.
